Our office provides a direct link to their elected officials. The duties of the municipal clerk are defines in state statute and the Houston Municipal Code. 

Areas of responsibility include:

Appeals

Business Licensing including Marijuana and Liquor licensing

City Council meeting agenda publication and packet preparation/distribution

Commission/Committee appointments

Election administration, initiative, referendum and recall petitions

Legislative action (minutes, code of ordinances, resolutions, etc.)

The Office of the City Clerk is open, except City holidays, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
